This stack is designed to support leaders in developing practices that support athletic and mental coaching by helping performers develop and strengthen their mental, self-regulatory, and life skills.

Analyzing and Interpreting Movement

The coach provides analysis and interpretation of a variety of movements utilizing movement through Knudson’s four-step approach to observational analysis of human movement (preparation, observation, evaluation/diagnostic, and intervention).

Applying Motor Imagery: Cognitive

After sport-specific modeling of how to use imagery for improving skills or tactics (Cognitive Imagery), the coach collects and analyzes athletes’ applications.

Developing a Dynamic Warm-up

The coach creates a developmentally progressive dynamic warm-up for physical training of youth athletes.

Developing a Needs Analysis

The coach creates a needs analysis for physical training of youth athletes.

Implementing Autonomy - Supportive Coaching Strategies

The coach consistently implements autonomy-supportive coaching strategies in their coaching practices.

Planning Autonomy - Supportive Coaching Strategies

The coach integrates autonomy-supportive coaching strategies in existing and/or newly developed coaching plans.

Utilizing Augmented Feedback

The coach provides ongoing augmented feedback (i.e., knowledge of results or knowledge of performance) statements through a process of self-reflection and direct experiences to increase performance.
